Seasons of the valley
By Kaylin Bayek
in the valley, springtime beckons
the beauty of flowers flourishing
in clusters across acres of
beauty & budding blossoms
in the valley, summer seeps in
with the taste of melon melting on
my tongue. tart & tangy.
jellyfish sway to the calm.
the ebbs and flows
of the vast expanse
there is so much ahead of me.
nights are filled with stars
as they dance gracefully,
in tandem with the creatures
of the night
in the valley, autumn arrives
heaps of leaves paint the once
green while crimson melts
into the crisp cracks of her Earth.
who she has become.
who she has shaped.
who she has changed.
who has stayed the same.
in the valley, winter graces us
snowflakes softly stirring something
silent, & icicles meeting the snow
upon places once gathered
there is something so peaceful
something so wonderous
something so beautiful that
within this
i find myself floating
& orbiting just as
the seasons. the animals.
& the people existing with me,
in the valley.
